Day
1: Airport Transfer to Hotel.
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport,
you will go through custom and immigration, and you will be met by our company
guide and later drive to your booked hotel accommodation for, dinner and
overnight stay at hotel.
Day
2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Today after taking your early morning
breakfast, you will wait for your Covid test results, later checkout of the
lodge and drive to visit the Kigali genocide memorial grounds, which honors the
memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994 through education
and peace-building. Later you will proceed with a drive to Musanze through the
magnificent route to your booked accommodation to catch up with the late lunch
and later spend the rest of the afternoon relax and prepare for the next day’s
trekking or visit the Diane Fossey institute if time permits. Dinner and
overnight stay at the hotel
Day
3: Gorilla trekking experience
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for
the briefing from the park officials and thereafter enter the jungle to search
the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their life style in their real home. After
meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour
gazing into their big round eyes. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of
fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water,
insect repellent, sun screen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes
half or whole day depending on the movement of these primates. After this
gorilla tracking experience in Rwanda, you will have informative memorable
experience in life. In the afternoon, you will head for cultural experience at Iby
iwacu cultural center, had a great taste of Rwanda culture. Later return to the
lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day
4: Nature walk at Buhanga Eco Park & Twin Lake visit
Today after you warm early morning breakfast,
you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park
headquarters for briefing and drive off, for nature walk at Buhanga Eco Park,
have a lovely nature walk experience this beautiful park, with strong kingship
history. You will later return for lunch, and twin for Canoe ride in the twin
lakes, as well as visit to the Diane fossey institute to learn about the great
work of this amazing lady. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
Day
5: Transfer to Lake Kivu, take a boat to visit the Coffee plantation.
After a delightful breakfast in the morning, you
will transfer to Gisenyi, which is roughly an hour away from Musanze, and you
will head for a boat trip in Lake Kivu, which is roughly a two hours boat trip to explore this beautiful
Lake and its numerous islands, and later proceed for a coffee experience in
Kinunu, where you have a real taste of Rwandan
organic coffee, before you transfer back to the lodge for late lunch, and
spend the afternoon at leisure, or visit Atalier de poupee, learn about the
great work of these amazing ladies, some of whom are widows. Dinner and
overnight at the lodge.
Day
6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest with canopy walk
Today, after you morning breakfast, you will
transfer to Nyungwe forest via Kibuye through the beautiful Congo Nile trail that rewards you with
stunning view of Lake Kivu, and the neighboring villages, and check in at your
lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will head off to visit the forest for a canopy walk, for a great tree top view
and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day
7: Chimpanzee tracking & transfer to Kigali
Today, after your early morning cap of African
coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe
well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for
briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding
the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before driving
off to Kigali. Visit King Palace Royal
Museum along the way. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
Day
8: Transfer to Akagera National Park. Travel time +2hours
Early morning enjoy your buffer breakfast and
checkout of the hotel and you will as well have departure covid test and later
proceed to Akagera national park and catch up with lunch. Afternoon, head for
boat trip on Lake Ihema. Enjoy a one hour boat ride on this beautiful lake,
watching a number of bird species, crocodiles and hippos, later return, have a
brief game drive before driving back to the lodge.
Day
9: Fully day game drive and return to Kigali
After
an early morning breakfast at 6:00 am and leave for an early morning game drive
in Akagera national park to catch up with late hunters and early risers. We
will be searching for the big mammals like Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes,
several Antelope species, and recently the re-introduced Lions and Rhinos. The
park is a varied habitat for wildlife and a number bird species with over 500
bird species in the park making it a birding paradise. You will have a picnic
lunch. After lunch, proceed with your game drive for more search of abundant
wildlife within this great park. Later return to the lodge for dinner and evening
stay at the lodge.
Day
10: Transfer back to Kigali
After an early morning breakfast, depending on
your flight time, you will be transferred to the airport to catch up with your
onward flight.
